Very little. Like any website, the servers that deliver Cafe Setup record basic request logs: your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and to stop abuse, and are not used to build profiles of visitors.

We use Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages and products people look at, and which stores they click through to. It tells us what to improve and which stores are worth adding. Google records the page, roughly where you are (country and region, from your IP address, which Google doesn’t store), your device and browser, and how you got here. We can’t see who you are, and we don’t send Google anything that names you.

In most of Canada and the US, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that tell repeat visits apart. In Quebec, the European Union, the UK and Switzerland it sets no cookies and sends only anonymous, cookie-free counts. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off everywhere, and the data isn’t shared with Google’s ad products.

To turn analytics off in this browser, use the button below. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, analytics are already off. Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site.

Fonts and product photos are served from our own site. Apart from Google Analytics, loading a page doesn’t contact third parties.

Your country, filters, comparisons and setup builds are kept in the page address (the URL), not in a database. That’s what makes a build easy to share: anyone you send the link to sees the same thing. It also means we don’t store your builds; if you lose the link, the build is gone.

Store links open the store’s own website, and its privacy policy applies from there. Our links ask your browser not to tell the store which Cafe Setup page you came from.

We don’t use affiliate links yet. When we do, the store or affiliate network will record that your visit came from us so it can pay us a commission.

The site is not directed at children and we don’t knowingly collect information about anyone.
